Whisky a-Go-Go, Los Angeles

On Jim Morrison's 57th birthday (December 8th) Wild Child again played at the world-famous Whisky A Go-Go in Hollywood. The early show completely sold out, so my friends and I opted for the late show to make certain we would not miss a note of the performance. We were rewarded with an incredible, powerful performance!

This was the best Wild Child show yet! Really!

I talked to a number of fans (including Tony the Doorman) while waiting outside on Sunset Blvd. I tried to tell everyone about this web site and the wonderful things I have planned for here. As the first show let out, it was fun to watch the crowd stream out of the Whisky. As this was an all-ages show, I spotted many young faces. It is encouraging to see a whole new generation of Doors Fans! It amazes me to realize that the music of the Doors is likely more popular today than it was 30 years ago!

We were first in line for the late show, so we got a nice table on the balcony. Good thing, too, as the place filled up quickly. Lots of old farts like me at the late show. We may be old, but we really know how to party, and have a lot of experience doing it! And, we wear more leather!

A guest appearance was made by former Wild Child member Ron Alan on harmonica. Man, he can blow a mean harp! It was addition to the music. Also, Wild Child's previous guitarist, Forrest Penner, also stepped in, replacing Kenny Marsh for "Light My Fire".

A short, but energetic set, followed. The crowd was really into it.
I was really into it as well, aided by the shots of tequila I was slamming down (thanks Derrick!).

Check out these super cool photos that my friend Danielle, an excellent concert photographer, took!

After the show we had a nice chat with the band, and I helped Kenny load his Marshall Stack into his truck. Who would have thought that music was so heavy!

Another great Wild Child show!
