The Coach House, San Juan Capistrano

Wild Child performed another incredible show Saturday night for a packed house at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano.

A large contingent of the San Diego regulars were shipped up an hour North in the Blue Bus (Thanks Jason!).

"The blue bus is calling us. Driver, where are you taking us?"

This Wild Child show was a continuation of my 40th birthday, already well in progress! We partied heavily in celebration! Due to the on-bus celebratory activities, we seemed to miss the opening acts of G-String and Redline 5. As Fleetwood Mac would say, "Oh Well". I was having such a good time (thanks to all for the drinks, etc!) that my stage photos from that night came out rather black and rough -- I'll spare you those. Instead, you'll have to wade through all of the text on this page.

Our gang avoided the tables and chairs that fill the Coach House and so many other venues, instead opting for a small area near stage right, perfect for dancing and swaying to the music. This proved to be an excellent, close-up vantage point for the show and was full of pretty girls for me to dance with! Awesome!

Who sits down for a Rock 'n' Roll show anyway? As Pete Townshend says,

"This is a rock and roll concert, not a fucking tea party - right!".

The show opened with an energetic "My Eyes Have Seen You", but that was only the beginning! The band stormed through "Break on Through" (my theme song) and other favorites like "Hello I love you", "Peace Frog", and "Love Me Two Times". A powerful version of "People are Strange" was perfect for the night and for these troubled times!

The crowd responded with raucous energy, appreciative of the magic unfolding on stage. At least one young woman was so moved by the music that she felt the urge to unzip her blouse. Really, I didn't stare... Just caught a quick glimpse. She gave me a nice hug after the show, but ran away before I could catch her name!

Another special Thank You! to the band for the kind birthday wishes and of course for the awesome show!

The Coach house walls are decorated with hundreds and hundreds of 8 x 10 publicity photos. It was fun to look at them and see all of the famous names that have played this place in the many years they have been bringing the music to us. The walls are a virtual who's who of Rock 'n' Roll.

A friend pointed out this really cool signed photo of a YOUNG Dave Brock:

Below is a candid snap from after the show. Left to right are Your Truly (birthday boy), Kenny Marsh (guitars), and my good friend and spiritual advisor, Danielle.

If you see us at the next show, please introduce yourself and say "Hello I love you!". We are a friendly bunch of music lovers and dedicated, hardcore Doors fans. Plus, we are just really cool people!

Thanks to all for helping me to celebrate my birthday! The party is just beginning!
Love and Peace to you all, Steve!
