BUILDING THE RSH OBSERVATORY
 | In the beginning there was dirt! The San Diego Astronomy Association has
a 10 acre observing site at Tierra Del Sol, near the Mexican border about 65 miles east of
San Diego. This site has public observing pads, private pads, and 10 private
observatories. The picture above looks northwest and shows the layout of the walls and the
observatory immediately to the west.

 | Bill Ruckles' laser leveled backhoe made short work of digging the footers and leveling
the foundation. View to the southwest. |

 | The laser is in the foreground, detector is near the bucket. Trenches for utilities and
conduit were laid, we were ready for steel and concrete.
