A Guide to Bubblegum Crisis Fan Fiction. Version 1.3
                      Released October ??, 2000
==============================================================================

This is an incomplete list of Bubblegum Crisis Fan Fiction available on
the internet. Most of the stories should be available at the Fan
Fiction archive at ftp.cs.ubc.ca /pub/archive/anime-fan-works. Most
stories are located in /pub/archive/anime-fan-works/BGC

Anonymous posts are NOT accepted. All stories at ftp.cs.ubc.ca archive site
are compressed using the "gzip" standard, be sure to have an un-zipper handy.

If you have no access to an un-zipper which handles "gzip" files, you can
request the ftp site uncompress the file before sending it to you. In order
to do this, simply request the file without the ".gz" extension (i.e. if the
file is listed as bgc.burst.gz, request the file bgc.burst). This option
imposes additional load on the ftp server, so it should not be used unless
you have no other option for uncompressing the file.

Anyone who wishes to add other Fan Fiction stories to this list, or to
correct any details I may have gotten wrong (including updated email address
of author), please Email your corrections and/or additions to:

include characters from Bubblegum Crisis series, or some mixture of these.
The other requirement is the story must be obtainable in some manner. No
one shot post stories that if you missed it you can never get it again.

Disclaimer:
-----------

The information in this document has been gathered from publicly available
information located at ftp.cs.ubc.ca, from email messages with the author,
other individuals on the internet, and web sites. This list is not guaranteed
to be accurate but is my best attempt to provided a short introduction to
each story. The personal comments are my comments about each story and is
not to be considered an endorsement of the author or the ideas of the author.
Nor are my personal comments to be viewed as an attack upon the author or the
author's work.

Personal note: The Bubblegum Crisis and Crash will be considered the heart of
the BGC universe. Inconsistencies between Crisis and Crash
will be over looked during the review of all fan fictions. The
ADPolice files OVAs will also be considered when ADP stories
               are written.

==============================================================================

Story Type: The BGC Fan Fictions in this list are divided into 9 general
categories, the categories are described below:

1) ORIGINAL - Does not alter any of the known BGC universe. May
attempt to fill in missing pieces not seen in the
OVAs. But keeps the mystery about some of the
characters intact. Could have been inserted into
the original OVA series between any of the episodes.

2) ALTERING - Changes past history of the BGC universe, alters the
out come of what was seen in the original OVAs or
alters character personalities greatly. Basically the
story feels like Bubblegum Crisis but has been changed
and could not be inserted between any of the OVA
episodes or OVA series. Examples of altering are:
different person kills Largo or Mason, Sylvie does not
die, a new member joins before the OVA series is
completed... (any event that would later change part of
                      the Bubblegum Crisis/Crash OVAs).

3) NON-OVA - This type of story has the Knight Sabers involved in
situations that are not seen in the OVAs. Generally
takes the BGC cast in a new direction and may break
away from the original format style or explore
avenues not taken in the OVA series. Basically the
story could not be inserted between OVA episodes of
either series without changing the feel of the series.

4) CROSSOVER - The cast of BGC meets characters from another series.
                      (this includes other Fan Fictions)

5) UNUSUAL SETTING - This type of story is typically putting the
cast of the BGC universes in a setting that would
normally never happen. Examples include: time
travel, space travel (beyond our solar system),
dimensional travel, the addition of magic,
super-powers, and/or mutants to the Bubblegum
                          Crisis universe.

6) PARODY - This story pokes fun at the Bubblegum Crisis series or
generally does not take the series or the fan fiction
                      being written seriously.

7) LEMON - This story contains sexual activities or strong adult
content. The story may not be suitable for younger
                      readers.

8) POEM - This fan created work is a poem or a song about
                      Bubblegum Crisis.

9) NO IDEA - These stories did not fit into any of the above
                      formats.

Or any combination of the above. If a story starts as Original but
slips into Altering I will list it as Original / Altering. Or if a
story is a crossover to another series that has magic in it or the
crossover is done through dimensional hopping it will be listed as
        Crossover / Unusual Setting.

Title: "Cyberpulp"
Author: Mayeen Alam (tiger_sa@jhunix.hcf.jhu.edu)
Location: /pub/archive/anime-fan-works/BGC/bgc.cyberpulp.gz
Status: UNKNOWN
Date: Sep 29, 1994
Type: No Idea

Synopsis: A team of people are setup to track down cyborgs and terminate
them. But one mission does not go as planned.

Personal: This is a short 3 page story that is totally generic and does not
have any of the AD Police or Bubblegum Crisis characters in it. It
could be considered a beginning story of the formation of the
AD Police but nothing even hints at it being Bubblegum Crisis in
nature. The story is only about three pages and very incomplete.

Title: Bubblegum Crisis "Beevis and Butthead"
Author: Rich Anderson (radman@venice.mps.ohio-state.edu)
Location: /pub/archive/anime-fan-works/BGC/bgc.beevis-and-butthead.gz
Status: COMPLETE
Date: Sep 29, 1994
Type: Crossover / Parody

Synopsis: Beevis and Butthead from MTV are wandering the streets of
MegaTokyo. Can even the Knight Sabers contain the damage?

Personal: This story is written in script format. The story is nicely
written (if any thing containing Beevis and Butthead could be
labeled nice). A short three page story.

Title: God's Toy
Author: Christopher Angel (c_j_angel@hotmail.com)
Location: http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/6549/amg/amg.html
      or: http://angel.megami.net
Status: UNKNOWN
Date: ???
Type: Unusual Setting / Altering

Synopsis: Kami-Sama is bored so he creates the Bubblegum Crisis Universe and
then turns it into a fan fiction by dropping in Chris Angle. Since
Chris is an agent of Kami-Sama he has some rather unique powers
and abilities. Kami-Sama personally asks Sylia to look after him
and to help him fit in.

Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. The plot is straight
forward with no unpredictable twists in the story line. The
characterization of Chris is well done. The Knight Sabers are more
the Knight Sabers of Crash than Crisis even though the events in
the story are from the first Crisis OVA. The first half of the
story is an introduction of Chris and is new material. The later
parts of the story are just a retelling of the first Crisis OVA
but with Chris being involved in it. There are a large number of
grammar mistakes in the story. Two parts of the story are
          available.

Title: Bubblegum Flash
Author: Ken Arromdee (karromde@nyx10.nyx.net)
Location: /pub/archive/anime-fan-works/BGC/bgc.cutey-honey.bubblegum-flash.gz
Status: COMPLETE
Date: Feb 6, 1998
Type: Crossover / Altering

Synopsis: Sylvie and Anri have escaped from the space station Genaros. They
encounter a interesting woman named Honey Kisaragi (formerly know
as Cutey Honey). Honey befriends the two boomers and helps them
adjust to life. Even going so far as to help the Knight Sabers
stop Largo when he tries to draw Sylvie and Anri into his boomer
          revolution.

Personal: This fan fiction draws on the Anime series Cutey Honey. Honey is
the main character and the Knight Sabers are more of a supporting
cast. There is only minor character development and most of it
is done by Sylvie and Anri. The plot is straight forward with
Honey helping Sylvie and Anri adjust to appearing human while
trying to keep some of the elements from the original OVA series.
This fan fiction is written in paragraph format.

Pre-Story: A working knowledge of the Anime series Cutey Honey.

Author: Richard Beaubien (beaubird@anime.sobhrach.com)
Location: http://www.ozemail.com.au/~dzillman/fire
      or: http://www.anime.sobhrach.com/~beaubird/
Status: COMPLETE
Date: ???
Type: Crossover / Unusual Setting

Synopsis: Nene is working on adjusting to her new life now that her memory
has returned. The problem is some of the other Knight Sabers are
having trouble adjusting to the new Nene. Will this cause the
group to break up or will they discover something new about
          themselves.

Personal: This fan fiction has some nice character development in it. Not
just for Nene but for all of the Knight Sabers. There is good
character interaction and the dialog flows nicely. The plot is
straight forward. This fan fiction is written in paragraph format.

          Pre-Story: The Bubble Burst

Title: Legion's Quest "Tangled Skeins"
Author: Ed Becerra (eabecerr@henge.com)
Location: /pub/archive/anime-fan-works/Miscellaneous/

      or: http://www.henge.com/~eabecerr/anime1.html
      or: http://www.users.fl.net.au/~bcadwgan/Anime.htm
Status: COMPLETE
Date: Jan 31, 1998
Type: Unusual Setting / Crossover

Synopsis: Ed Becerra (aka Legion) is still trying to get home from an
experimental dimensional travel test. With the help of the AI,
Minerva, on his ship named Calypso, Ed has rotated from one
universe to another. This time he ends up in the Bubblegum
Crisis universe. Trying to fit in might be a bit of a problem.

Personal: This fan fiction is written in paragraph format. It draws heavily
on the fan fiction "Twisted Path 3" making use of events that
occurred in that fan fiction. Also, earlier events from other
Legion Quest fan fictions are referred to as well. The plot is
straight forward and characterization is done well. The story
ends with the opening for a sequel.

          Pre-Story: Legion's Quest 1 (for back history)
          Pre-Story: Legion's quest 2 (for back history)

Title: Legion's Quest: Time and Again
Author: Ed Becerra (eabecerr@henge.com)
Location: http://www.users.fl.net.au/~bcadwgan/Anime.htm
Status: TO-BE-COMPLETED
Date: Mar 8, 1998
Type: Crossover / Unusual Setting

Synopsis: Ed Becerra (aka Legion) is working on repaying the debt he owes
the Knight Sabers and MegaTokyo. The problem is, while he is
trying to put his life back together, Genom and USSD have not
given up on trying to obtain the technology Ed has. For that
matter, not all of the Knight Sabers are ready to forgive him
for the damage he has done to some of them (actually the damage
was more to the ego of a certain Knight Saber).

Personal: This fan fiction is written in paragraph format. The story is a
series of several small plots linked together. The characterization
is good and character interaction is well done. This is a working
copy of the story and large sections of it are not complete.

          Pre-Story: Legion's Quest 1 (for back history)
          Pre-Story: Legion's quest 2 (for back history)
Pre-Story: Twisted Path 3 (for back history and setting)

Title: "In Vino Veritas"
Author: Dick Beck (dickbeck@ix.netcom.com)
Location: /pub/archive/anime-fan-works/BGC/bgc.in-vino-veritas.gz
Status: COMPLETE
Date: Oct 27, 1997
Type: NON-OVA

Synopsis: Genom has fallen thanks to the effort of the Knight Sabers. But
in gaining the information needed to bring about the down fall of
Genom two of the Knight Sabers will be shocked by what is found in
          Genom's computers.

Personal: This is a short two page fan fiction deals with the price one has
to pay to protect a friend from the truth that could destroy them.
The story is written in paragraph format.
______________________________________________________________________________
Title: Shades of Grey (part 1)
Author: Harris Bias (hbias@earthlink.net)
Location: /pub/archive/anime-fan-works/BGC/bgc.shades-of-grey.gz
Status: LOST-INTEREST
Date: Jul 22, 1998
Type: Unusual Setting (Dimension Crossing / Time Travel)

Synopsis: An armored hero named Graviton, is displaced through time and from
an alternate world. He ends up in MegaTokyo. While trying to work
out where he is he comes across a boomer attack. Being a hero he
jumps right in and assists the police. The Knight Sabers watch
from a distance and assess this new armor in action and wonder
who's side is he really on.

Personal: This story has a straight forward plot of a dimensionally displaced
person teaming up with the Knight Sabers. It is well done and the
Knight Sabers do not trust him, nor accept him at his word. This
caution adds a sense of realism to the story and depth to the
characters. This story is written in paragraph format.

Author: Else Bibat (???)
Location: http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Ginza/7597/archive
Status: COMPLETE
Date: ???
Type: Non-OVA

Synopsis: Sylia is dead. Can the Knight Sabers go on without her?

Personal: The story presents a simple idea and a story format. The story
          is only one page long.
______________________________________________________________________________
Title: RanmaPunk 2033 - The Movie
Author: John Walter Biles (rhea@maison-otaku.net)
Location: /pub/archive/anime-fan-works/Ranma/ranma.bgc.ranmapunk.gz
Status: COMPLETE
Date: Sep 29, 1994
Type: Crossover / Unusual Setting

Synopsis: The Knight Sabers are hired to recover some data from Souchiro
Enterprises, which is owned by Kunou Enterprises. But
Mendo-Mizonokouji Conglomerate is claiming the stolen data is
theirs and has hired the Magnificent Seven to recover it for them.
The Magnificent Seven consist of: Ranma, Akane, Genma, Ukyou,
Ryouga, Mousse, and Shampoo. But not everything is as it appears.
There are two mysterious groups working for their own ends. One is
feeding Kunou Enterprises information. The other is helping Genom
attain it's goals. But where do the Knight Sabers and the
Magnificent Seven fit into all of this? and if they do fight will
hardsuit technology triumph over martial arts?

Personal: This story is more for the Ranma 1/2 fan. The Knight Sabers are
featured but character development for them is low. The Ranma 1/2
cast has a large range of character development during this story.
The fight scenes have more in common with the Ranma 1/2 fight
scenes, than any Bubblegum Crisis battles (other than there are
boomers getting pounded). There is a nice mystery running through
the story that adds to the story. This story is written in script
          format.

Pre-Story: An understanding of Ranma 1/2 series.

Title: "The Dance of Shiva
Author: John Biles (rhea@maison-otaku.net)
    or: Ranma Al'Thor (ranma@falcon.cc.ukans.edu)
Location: /pub/archive/anime-fan-works/Miscellaneous/Crossovers/
                                                     xover.dance-of-shiva.gz
      or: http://www.maison-otaku.net/~rhea/Shiva/Shiva.html
Status: COMPLETE
Date: July 29, 1997
Type: Crossover / Unusual Setting

Synopsis: Celia's grandmother has been in a coma for the last 13 years, so
why does Genom want her dead? For that matter how was Celia's
grandmother able to fight off several boomers without the help of
a hardsuit? The answers to these questions lead the Knight Sabers
into a conflict that brings the world to the edge of destruction.
But while the Knight Sabers do not know what they are getting into
some soon to be allies have at least a partial understanding of the
crisis that is taking shape. But are any of them ready for the
universal struggle between the forces of destruction and the forces
          of life.

Personal: This story is a very large 20 chapter crossover. Featuring Knight
Sabers, Tenchi, Sailor Moon, and Patlabor as the dominating animes
of this story. Some other animes put in appearances to help things
along include: AMG, KOR, Marmalade Boy, Maison Ikkoku and several
others. This fan fiction is written in paragraph format and over
433 pages in length. The story is set in the year 2034 in the city
of MegaTokyo. The story starts out centered around the Knight Sabers
but rapidly expands to include several other Animes. The story
flows well and the Animes and their characters are blended very
well. The story is well designed and their are several mysteries
during the story. Flash backs are used to provide background,
character relationships, and information on how some of the
characters came to know each other. The only draw back to this
story is the size and the number of characters dealt with in this
story. At times it is hard to keep track of all the characters and
some of the jokes of which Anime character married who may be lost,
due to the reader not knowing all the Anime Characters in this story.

Date: Dec 24, 1996
Type: Poem / No Idea (Trailer for another story)

Synopsis: This fan fiction is a "twas the night before Christmas ..." poem
about the Knight Sabers. It is a trailer for a fan fiction that
          has yet to be written.

Personal: An altering of the standard Christmas poem, with a few sentences
thrown in about a coming BGC story.

Author: Ryan Blade (ryanblade@hotmail.com)
Location: http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Vault/5175/adp.html
Status: COMPLETE
Date: ???
Type: No Idea

Synopsis: Genom is gone and the Knight Sabers have turned evil. Only the
          ADPolice can stop them now.

Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. It completely ignores
all established characterization from the OVA series. The plot is
overly simplified and character interaction is poorly done. There
is no character development. The story has a large number of
grammar errors as well. The story is marked as No Idea due to the
complete disregard for established character and plot elements
          from the OVA series.

Title: "Bubblegum Force"
Author: Jeroen Braamhaar or Cpt. C. Nebulart (nebulart@solnoid.xs4all.nl)
Location: /pub/archive/anime-fan-works/BGC/bgc.gallforce.bubblegum-force.gz
Status: COMPLETE
Date: Sep 13, 1996
Type: Crossover

Synopsis: Rabby (from Gall Force 1), Catty, Lufy, Shildy, Spea, and Amy (from
Gall Force 2 & 3) survive to the year 2032 in stasis. Rabby and Lufy
are recovered by Genom and are revived. After awakening, they escape
from Genom and end up with Dr. Raven who contacts Sylia for help in
hiding the girls from Genom. Rabby and Lufy are asked to join the
Knight Sabers. Later in the story the other Gall Force members
arrive in a damaged shuttle and add to the Knight Saber's group.
The story picks up the pace as Genom is trying to take over complete
control of the City and the Knight Sabers strive to stop them.

Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. It combines Bubblegum
Crisis and Gall Force. The story is very well crafted and flows
well (though there are a few too many coincidences at the start of
the story that throw the flow off a little). The story would be
improved by a pre-reader/editor to correct some grammar errors.
The story blends the two anime together very well. There are some
nice pairings of BGC to Gall Force personalities and nice character
interaction. The first chapter of this story was posted in Sep 5,
          1995 under the name bgc.gallforce_new-world.

Type: Crossover

Synopsis: Captain Catty Nova Nebulart, former head of Solnoid Central
Intelligence survives the last war between the Solnoid and the
Paranoid. With her she brings the sum total of all the Solnoid
information in the form of the Elysion computer cores. Entering
cryostatic sleep she programs her ship to enter Sol's solar system
and hide in the rings of Saturn until Earth obtains space flight or
the ship picks up Solnoid transmissions. Meanwhile an
archaeological expedition unearths the landing site of Rumy and
the boy created by Mission 21 (Gall Force 1).

Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. It combines the Bubblegum
Crisis and Gall Force elements easily. The story is a continuation
of Bubblegum Force. The personalities of the characters interact
well. The author has done a nice job of blending the two stories
together, in a believable fashion. There are several different
plot lines woven through the story. The story is up to part 3.

Author: I'm busy overhauling my web page. The fanfics are temporarily
offline. In, addition, I am working on BGCF2, once more. Progress
is slow, but the story will be finished.

Type: Crossover / Unusual Setting

Synopsis: Priss dies due to her injuries fighting Largo (this takes place
between Crisis OVA 6 and 7). Priss does not stay dead, but Priss
does not understand how it happened. Sylia contacts Patrick
O'Brien, who is an immortal, to help explain to Priss what is
happening to her. But while Priss is learning to deal with being
an immortal, someone is running around MegaTokyo beheading people
with the help of some boomers.

Personal: This story blends the two series very well. The author only has to
change a little of Priss' history to make the elements work. The
story follows Priss and Patrick the most but other characters get
some story time as well. All of the characters have in depth
personality and some of them experience growth of the character
personality in this story. There is room for a sequel to this
story, though the story does come to a conclusion.

Author: This story begins at the very end of BGC Episode 6, "Red Eye's"
and continues until the beginning of Episode 7, "Double Vision."
Also, I mentioned that Priss' parents adopted her, and after they
died she was in an orphanage for the *second* time before running
away. This was necessary in order to fit BGC into the Highlander
universe (no Immortal can identify their biological parents).
However, it is the _only_ alteration (and a minor one at that) I
made to any of the character's back stories. Patrick O'Brien is
an original character I created on the Highlander Fan Fiction
list, and is the central character of several stories of his own.

Type: Non-OVA / Lemon

Synopsis: It is early in the morning and Priss ducks into a diner to get
out of the rain. And who is there? Leon. For a reason Priss
can not explain she sits down and has a talk with him. But the
conversation takes a turn that she was not ready for.

Personal: This story is short (about four pages) but does a nice job of
filling out the relationship between Priss and Leon. It is the
start of their relation where they stop lying to each other
about several things. The two characters have some new depth
          added to them.

Author: Although this is set in the same overall story cycle as my BGC/HL
Xover "Death and Life" (and the full sequel will draw on this) it
is not an Xover, since no HL characters or other Immortals
          (aside from Priss), appear.

Synopsis: It is September 2436 and Priss' Watcher is nearing retirement. But
before he retires she wants to tell him about the events leading
up to her first public death that forced her to leave MegaTokyo.
What history remembers for the year of 2034 and what really
happened differ greatly due to the intervention of the Knight
          Sabers and the Watchers.

Personal: Most of this story is told as a flash back. Some of the scenes are
told in a first person view point (mostly Priss') while others
are third person view points. There is nice characterization and
plot development within the story. There are a few twists in the
plot that help to keep the reader's interest high during the story.
This fan fiction is written in paragraph format. The story ends
with the line, "That is a story for another evening." Which
needless to say implies a sequel to this story.

Author: I got very positive reactions to "Death and Life" and many people
asked if I was going to write a sequel. Many people on
alt.fan.bgcrisis know about my dissatisfaction with BGCrash, and
how I felt there was a good story lurking somewhere beneath the
crap if only the date was pushed up a year and some explanations
were made for the discrepancies between the BGC characters and
their BGCrash selves. Originally, I was going to write a straight
BGC story within the same cycle, but with little or no Highlander
influence beyond Priss' rapid healing and inability to have kids.
Then they cloned that damn sheep.

Synopsis: Someone is stalking Patrick O'Brien. Some of Patrick's past has
come back to haunt him. The trouble spills over onto the mortal
friends that Patrick has made making matters worse. Just as Sylia
and Patrick are solidifying their relationship this threatens to
pull them apart. To make matters even worse the threat includes
Priss, or more to be more exact her head.

Personal: This fan fiction is written in paragraph format. It fills in some
of the details mentioned in "Father's Pride...". The plot is well
written, it does not center on the Knight Sabers but upon
Patrick's immortality and the dangers it brings. There is good
characterization and character development in this story.

Synopsis: The year is 2262 and White Star 72 has returned to Babylon 5.
Captain Asagiri is looking forward to some quiet time with her very
old friend Patrick O'Brien. Little does Priss know that she is going
to get to spend some time with an even older friend courtesy of the
Brakiri "Day of the Dead" celebration. The only question is: who,
of all the people Priss has known, will visit her on this most
          unusual night?

Personal: This fan fiction combines the Bubblegum Crisis Anime with the
Highlander Movie/TV series and the Babylon 5 TV series. It does a
nice job of combining the three series and focuses on character
development of Priss and author created Patrick O'Brien. The author
makes very good use of the unusual event of the Brakiri "Day of the
Dead" giving Priss and Patrick one more chance to talk to someone
special that has died. The presence of two immortals does not
affect the Babylon 5 story line at all. The fan fiction is written
          in paragraph format.

          Largo from destroying the Federation?

Personal: This story is written in script format. The plot feels weak and the
characters are stereo typed (Priss violent, Nene a brain, ...).
Personalities for the characters in this story feel flat and two

Type: Crossover

Synopsis: Priss is having a bad day and goes to the holodeck to relax. But
some new items have been added to her holodeck program.

Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. The story does a fair
job of displaying Priss' mood. It is short and was to be added to
by other authors (kind of a group story) but never caught on.

Author: Basically, I'll start the "substory", and then another person
follows up the article by writing another part of the story, and so
forth. Then I'll write the ending. This should be reminiscent of

Personal: This fan fiction is written in script format. The story is slow to

becoming a officer. Character personality is very flat and
          stereo typed.

Personal: This fan fiction switches from script to paragraph format and back

Synopsis: The USS Stingray responds to a distress call from Gamelan V. While
waiting for additional Starships to deal with a radiation problem,
a boomer attacks the planet. But this boomer appears to be more
          than your average boomer.

Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. The plot to this story
is good and contains a bit of a mystery, what is the boomer up to?
The characters have depth of personality and interact well. Several
sub-plots are carried over and defined from earlier Bubblegum Trek
          stories.

Personal: This fan fiction is written in paragraph format. The plot appears to

Synopsis: This work is a run down on the Bubblegum Trek series. It provides
synopsis information on planned and written fan fictions by Fred
Byon. Statistical information is given for the ship the Knight
Sabers have, as well as their role in Star Fleet.

Personal: The fan fiction is written in a data format (part data, part
paragraph). The synopsis tells the reader what has happened in each
of the stories written by Fred Byon. Other stories are mentioned

Synopsis: Fenris is trying desperately to get away from some corporate
pursuit. The problems start when he tries to cast a spell during
the shooting and it goes wrong. Instead of displacing his image,
it displaces his body to the Bubblegum Crisis universe. Can a
shaman from the Shadowrun universe survive in MegaTokyo?

Personal: This fan fiction draws heavily on the FASA Shadowrun Role Playing
Game. If you're not familiar with the game you could be lost by
some things the character Fenris does in the story. Drawing upon
the Shadowrun game has provided the author-created characters
great depth of character. The plot centers on Fenris and his
trying to survive in MegaTokyo and the effects he has on the
people he meets. The story is not complete, there are outline
sections that need to be filled out yet.

Synopsis: An Anime fan is out riding his motorcycle and thinks he encounters
          Priss on her red motorcycle.

Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. It is very short and
give you the feeling closer to the "Twilight Zone" than an Anime
          story.

Author: One of the things I liked very much about a some of the short
stories I've read by Stephen King is how he blends reality and
fantasy in such a remarkably believable way. I tried to do that in
this story, and I hope that it worked. Let me know what you think.

Synopsis: Another company has acquired Dr. Stingray's files. They are only

their operation. They believe that Sylia and Mackie have that data
and they intend to get that data at any cost.

Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. For what little there is
to this story, it starts out well. The characters are given some
depth and a nice mystery is being formed.

Title: The Price of Freedom

Location: /pub/archive/anime-fan-works/BGC/bgc.the-price-of-freedom.gz
Status: COMPLETE
Date: Dec 21, 1996
Type: Non-OVA / Altering

Synopsis: The fight for freedom is about to be waged from the shadows of
Mega-Tokyo. As a fantastic plot that will span both the world
and the moon will erupt to bring Genom and the USSD to their knees
with the Knight Sabers caught in the middle. The price of freedom
will be paid in full as Dr. Stingray is avenged at last and the
          boomers strive forward for freedom.

Personal: This story follows the leader of the boomer revolution, Travathian,
more then it follows the Knight Sabers. Sylia's part is more of an
opportunity for Travathian to give background information about his
and Dr. Stingray's history. The other Knight Sabers are supporting
characters, though Priss' personality is expanded when she is forced
to take charge of the Knight Sabers when Sylia disappears. The
"Altering" type placed on this story is due to a section of the
story that has Largo being affected by the death of Anri. This is
out of context with the OVAs, as Largo is the one that kills Anri
and he does not appear to mourn her passing at all.

Type: Crossover / Parody

Synopsis: What happens when Picard of Star Trek The Next Generation makes a
comment about needing a change of scene, you get a crossover parody.
The Brain is now chairman Quincy and his assistant is a buma named
Pinky. But to test the newest buma on the Knight Sabers, the Brain
gets them to star in a play entitled, "Springtime in Megatokyo".

Personal: A crossover parody of the most extreme. This parody is written in
paragraph format. This one is not to even be remotely taken
          seriously.

Author: I think I'm a bit late for the challenge I originally offered the
Fan Fiction Mailing List though, which was to write the most
outrageous fic one could possibly think of beginning with the line,
"Space is a really, really empty place."

the Miss Mega Tokyo pageant and one or more of the Knight Sabers
must enter the pageant. In addition, Priss appears to have made
Dr. Raven mad once to often.

Personal: This story starts out well and has a lot of potential. There is good
character development and interaction. This story takes place
between Bubblegum Crisis 4 and 5. The story is in paragraph format.

Type: Unusual Setting

Synopsis: What would happen if Priss had died fighting Largo? What would
the world be like? This fan fiction covers one of many possible
out comes of this question, when the Knight Sabers end up in
a world where Largo won the fight against Priss.

Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. The story includes
time travel and dimensional crossing. It ends with a standard
sequel type of ending. In addition, some loose ends are not tied
up in this story. Most of the characters remain close to the
OVA series but not all of them. The plot is fairly well done but
crosses over into multiple setting, including some other Bubblegum
          Crisis Fan Fictions.

History: This story is about two years old and I've since had my computer
crash. I don't have a copy anymore but if you ask the discussion

Synopsis: The Knight Sabers are recovering from the strange experience they
recently had and are just getting on with life. That is until
Genom hires some assassins to take out the Knight Sabers. Now the
Knight Sabers are forced to fight a defensive battle against an
enemy that knows who they are. Even worse, Largo is lurking in the
background waiting with plans of his own.

Personal: This fan fiction picks up where the last fan fiction, Bubblegum
Crush, left off. The plot is straight forward with only the twist
of adding Largo into the story. The character interaction starts
out good but gets more simple the further the story goes. The
actions taken by Largo or how the assassins learned the identity
of the Knight Sabers is not explain in the story. The story is
          written in paragraph format.

Synopsis: While chasing a boomer, the Knight Sabers get pulled into the
world of the Transformers. Not sure who to support, the Knight
Sabers hold back during the battle, which is the cause of their
being pulled from their universe. Once it becomes clear which
side they should aid they join the battle.

Personal: This story is straight forward with its plot. There is minimal
character development. Character dialog is sparse and this limits
character interaction to the bare minimum.

Type: Crossover

Synopsis: Largo is alive and scheming yet again. This time he is getting some
help from William Ackerman, currently the defacto CEO of the
Pacific Consortium. Things are getting more sticky as Ackerman's
rival, Jason Chandler CEO of Metagen, are making a deal to
improve the quality of boomers being produced by Genom. Caught in
the middle of all this are the Knight Sabers. They get a minor
hint of the trouble to come when they run afoul of Chandler's
security trouble shooter (fancy name for high tech muscle)
          Richard Chase.

Personal: This fan fiction is a crossover between the Bubblegum Crisis
Universe and a cyberpunk RPG. It draws upon some of the characters
and corporations from that RPG. The characters have great depth
and interact well, enhancing the plot. There is a feel of corporate
intrigue and deception. The fan fiction is written in paragraph
format. There are a large number of grammar and punctuation errors
within this fan fiction. The story is currently up to part 6.

Type: Unusual Setting / Crossover / Parody

Synopsis: A former scientist of Genom is working on a dimensional portal. Just
as he starts the first test he is attacked by some female boomers
and they take control of the portal. Taking the scientist through
the portal with them, they cause portals to open in other places
pulling other Anime characters into other worlds, including the
Knight Sabers. But not all the Knight Sabers land in the same place.

Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. It is a crossover /
parody story that does its best to make fun of, or at least make
mention of, as many anime stories as possible. Some examples are
"Greenwood Prison" and "White Base Bar and Grill". Other characters
get short appearances but the story follows the Knight Sabers the
most. Warning this story is a parody of as many anime stories as
          possible.

Synopsis: Everyone in the ADPolice are getting ground under. The chief is in
Genom's pocket and so are the politicians that control the budget
for the ADP. More and more people are quitting, which is just
making it harder on the people left. Nene does not want to quit
the ADP and Leon refuses to give up but both of them have lost
hope that the ADP can survive. Even worse is the strain this is
          putting on the Knight Sabers.

Personal: This fan fiction hints that it might be the start of a series
entitled "Dark Tokyo" but no other stories have been located.
It does a very nice job of depicting the mental state of a person
over worked and without hope of it getting better any time in the
future. There is nice characterization and the plot is straight
forward. This fan fiction is written in paragraph format.

Personal: This fan fiction is written in paragraph format. The plot is simple
and straight forward. There is good characterization but it centers
on Sylia and Linna, with Mackie getting only a little. The author

          attached to a bleeding body.

Personal: This fan fiction does a nice job of reminding us of the worry that
those left behind feel for a loved one facing danger. There is good
depth of character for all the characters and the dialog is well
done. This fan fiction is written in paragraph format.

Status: COMPLETE
Date: Aug 7, 1995
Type: Crossover

Synopsis: This story features a little girl that looks like Alita, but does
not remember who she is, in Mega Tokyo in the Knight Saber's
time. The story is mostly from Alita's point of view and deals
with her experiences trying to survive in Mega Tokyo without any
memory (but with her full fighting ability).

Personal: This story contains extreme violence (per the author's own words
and he is not kidding). This story is well written in paragraph
format. It does not explain how or why Alita is in the Bubblegum
Crisis Universe (the only hint is Alita has a dream about it, but
the ending implies that the world of Battle Angel and Bubblegum
are the same planet). This story is more for the Battle Angel
fan then the Bubblegum Crisis fan.

There are three major stories in this fan fiction; "Brave ..",
"Nemesis", and "Objects in the Rear View Mirror ...". These three
stories are joined by short bridging stories; "Transition1" and
"Transition2" to form the entire "Gun Dreams" fan fiction.

"Brave" covers the start of Alita's adventure in MegaTokyo after
she wakes up. Alita runs a foul of several of Genom's boomers and
even has an encounter with Largo.

"Nemesis" covers Alita having a run in with the Knight Sabers. She
is in a rather bad mood, holding both the city at large and the
Knight Sabers responsible for the death of a friend.

"And objects in the rearview mirror may appear closer than they
are..." is Alita asking Dr. Ido about an item that he had found.
The item in question is an old combat armor called a "hardsuit".

Synopsis: A little girl (that appears to match the description of Alita
of Battle Angel) is singing in a bar and a Boomer attack takes
place several blocks away. The Knight Sabers appear and save
Leon's life. But this is only the start of what is to turn the
city of MegaTokyo inside out. Before the night is out, Genom will
be asking the ADPolice for help and will even be willing to assist
          the Knight Sabers.

Personal: The "Nemesis" story in the ftp archives site is only a short clip
of the "Nemesis" story, which is a part of the "Gun Dreams" story
by the same author. The clip does not do the story justice.
The story is more for the Alita fans then the Bubblegum Crisis fans.
This fan fiction contains scenes of extreme violence.

For the entire story read "Gun Dreams" or for just the Knight Sabers
part of the story see the web pages listed under location.

          she learns and calls Sylia.

Personal: A short story about who Quincy could be and how he came to power.
There is little personality development in this story and the plot
is straight forward, but with a little twist near the end. This fan

Synopsis: The Knight Sabers are working on improving their combat skills in
the holo computer trainer. Priss is frustrated by her lack of being

But there is more to Nene than Priss thinks and Nene is about to
          prove it.

Personal: This story is a nice short one detailing some of the Knight Sabers
in a more relax environment. The character personalities are within
the know personalities from the OVA series. It puts Nene in a new
light. This story is written in a paragraph format.

Personal: This fan fiction explores the issue of expanding technology and
how the Knight Sabers might face their deaths. It is on the
graphic side for violence and gore. The characters appear to
stay within character with that established within the OVA
series. This fan fiction would be termed a "dark" fan fiction and
is written in paragraph format. It appears to tie in with the

          it.

Personal: I'm under the impression that the start of the poem was in
response to something posted on the net. The other additions are
responses to the original subject. It is OK for a poem but then

Title: Bubblegum Crisis : "Tokyo Epoch"
Author: (cspray@efn.org)
Location: /pub/archive/anime-fan-works/BGC/bgc.te.prisoner-of-war.gz
Status: COMPLETE
Date: Oct 15, 1995
Type: Unusual Setting

Synopsis: The story starts with Celia still in Germany. Priss, Nene, Linna,
and Mackie have battled some boomers on Genom Island and lost.
Priss is taken prisoner by Mason (now running Genom). The other
Knight Sabers believe Priss to be dead but, Celia knows she is not,
after a mental confrontation with Mason. The remaining Knight
Sabers prepare to rescue Priss and confront Mason.

Personal: This fan fiction is written in paragraph format. This story is
confusing at points and does not flow well. There are parts where
an injury of a leg is mentioned at the start of a section but
changes to an arm later in that same section. The mental powers of
both Mason and Celia are not explained, nor how Mason returned.
Mason is show by the hardsuit sensors to be human but performs
super feats as if he was Largo, the super boomer. Celia also
displays what could be termed super powers by healing both Nene and
and Linna of injuries. Basically there are a large number of
elements that happen in this story that are not explained. These
unexplained elements detract from the story.

Author: I'm not satisfied. After more than three years of long-term
plotting, planning and in some cases complete rewriting, this is
probably the best story I will ever write- certainly it has been
the most challenging over the two years it's been in direct
production. But I'm not satisfied. I'm SURE there must be holes
in this story big enough to drive a truck through: I'm even MORE
sure a lot of people will dislike the contents or concepts of this
story. (Well, you can't please everyone all the time..) But the
REAL reason, the most important one, that I'm not satisfied is
this: I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN DO THIS AGAIN. There is a LOT more
to this story, a lot more that I have in mind... but I don't know
if I'll ever be able to match it. And so, I'm intensely reluctant
to let the story in its current form go: to let it stop, when I
might not be able to restart...

Personal: This story focuses more on the group from the Ranma 1/2 series
with the Knight Sabers and their world acting as supporting
cast and a setting for the story. The story does a nice job

Synopsis: Priscilla Asagiri is acting as the celebrity judge for a karaoke
contest (the things Priss does for her friends). The first person
singing is Hino Rei. As Rei is finishing her song, Priss feels a
pinprick under her shoulder and wakes up 900 years in the future.
Needless to say she is not happy about the situation, especially
since she remembers nothing after the karaoke contest. Can a rebel
biker/singer fit into the society of Crystal Tokyo?

Personal: This story is written first person and follows Priss throughout
the entire story. It does a very nice job of portraying Priss'
character and her emotions of being cut off from everything that
is familiar to her. The plot has several mysteries throughout
the entire story. Some of the mysteries are answered but not all

explores Nene's character in an interesting way. The character of
Aethan has a very in depth personality and history (which we get
only a taste of in this story). The plot has several twists in it
and leaves several plot elements open for both prequel and sequel
type stories. This fan fiction is written in a paragraph format.

Author: This story is a sequel to an earlier Sailor Moon story "The Roads
We Walk", available on the author's web page or the RAAC archive
site. It is not necessary to have read the Sailor Moon fan fiction
to understand this fan fiction, it does add some background on the
character of Aethan DeGales. The Sailor Moon story does not cover
the events that occurred in Nerima in 1996.

Pre-Story : Together Again: 1996 (does not feature the Knight
Sabers but gives back history on Aethan and the
opponent he and the Knight Sabers face in this story.
Post-Story: Sailor Moon "Best of all the Years" (the story follows
only Priss of the Knight Sabers but it is set in the
future and confirms that Nene is involved with the
                      Crystal Tokyo organization)

Type: Crossover / Unusual Setting

Synopsis: Priss Asagiri has accepted to become a Paladin of Crystal Tokyo.
She is attempting to come to terms with her new world but is still
suffering from a loss of memory. Even though the memory block has
been removed she can not remember past a certain point in her past.
The political situation is heating up, with the arrival of the
Jurain Emperor, Tenchi, to Crystal Tokyo. Factions in the
government have petitioned to break off ties with the Jurain
Empire, causing tension to rise even more. While trying to get a
handle on her life Priss gets assigned to investigate the theft of
some labors from Noa Izumi's Patlabor division. But the theft is
only the start of the trouble Priss is going to be involved in.

Personal: This fan fiction attempts to draw as many Anime series as possible
into it. I've lost count of all the references. The story only
partially follows Priss, as it is split evenly between all the
main characters. There is a lot going on in this story and several
different plots are occurring at the same time. Not all of the plots
are connected, but all add depth to the over all story. The author
does a good job of explaining how each anime character is present
in this future time. The personalities are well thought out and
each character has depth as well. The plots are very nicely done
and several nice mysteries are forming. This fan fiction is written
          in script format.

Pre-Story: Sailor Moon "Best of all the Years"
This story is only for background on how Priss ends up in the
future and some background information on the workings of the
                Crystal Tokyo government.

Type: Crossover

Synopsis: After Priss, Nene, and Linna say good-bye to Sylia (at the end of
Bubblegum Crash), they run into an old childhood friend of Priss'.
The problem is Priss does not remember this person at all. When
she is urged to talk to the old friend's mother in hopes of sparking
some memories. Priss balks at the idea, not being sure if she wants
to learn about what her life was like before the quake.

Personal: This story explores some of Priss' past. It draws on the characters
of the series "You're Under Arrest" for Priss' parents. It does a
nice job of tying the two series together giving some insight into
the way Priss deals with pain or the possibility of pain. This
story is written in paragraph format.

is having some trouble coming to terms with what has happened.
She is not certain how she feels about Priss being alive and her
          personal life made public.

Personal: This story features only Sylia and Priss of the Knight Sabers. It
provides a first person narration for both Sylia and Priss, as
well as standard third person narration. It does a nice job of
exploring Sylia's feelings about her situation and relationship
with Priss. The story is written in paragraph format.

Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. It explores the idea
behind Sylia's choice of including Priss as a Knight Saber and
when that choice might have been a mistake. The ideas are not
new but present a different light on them. The story is saved in

Personal: This story is written in paragraph format. The story follows
Linna and centers on her and her thoughts. The plot is straight

Synopsis: A buma escapes from Genom but does not go rogue. As the entire
city is searching for the buma, it is searching for Sylia Stingray.
Upon reaching Sylia, the buma allows Nene and Macky to study it's
programming and it is discovered that the buma has been programmed
with the response patterns of Dr. Stingray.

Personal: This fan fiction takes place between Bubblegum Crisis OVA 3 and 4.
The story is well designed, with the exception of Priss liking the
buma. At the point in the OVA series the author suggests that this
story be inserted, Priss still has a strong dislike of bumas. The
fan fiction is short and direct, with little character development.

Personal: This fan fiction is written in paragraph format. It does a nice job

should continue to follow his father's legacy.
