Team members (l-r): Pamela Blackledge, Kristina Morales and Jodi Groteboer. Polar Duke

Jodi Groteboer

I moved here 1 1/2 years ago to go into marine biology. I have been attending Mesa and City the entire time; trying to complete my generals. I'm not sure what I want to ultimately do in this field so that is why I am taking this course.

Hobbies: I work at a coffee shop and I consider that a hobby--we are always learning new things about coffee and tea. I enjoy going for walks and being outside in general. I also enjoy learning about our enviornment and how we can take care of it. I haven't had any time to find any good links, but I intend to in the future.

Maria Nevarez

I am 24 years old and am currently attending City full-time. I took a long absence from school because I used to to be in the military. I am taking this class early into my studies because I am indecisive as to what major I'ld like to major into.

Career: Ever since I was 15 years old, becoming a marine biologist was all I wanted to become. As I grew older, the dream is still there. Only now, its between Biology, Marine Biology, or Zoology. So by taking this class, I will know if this is the direction I want to go with as far as my career.

Kristina Morales

I am apart of a lab quartet with Judy, Julie, and Joel. My only major connections with Marine Biology up to now have been that I like Sea World and I am a Pisces. I hope to change this!
My aspirations are to spend more time enjoying my family and to excel in a computer career. Staying physically active is important to me and I try to squeeze in a Salsa class when my schedule permits.
My philosophy on life:"Don?t worry, Be happy!" And, when things get challenging remember what Drew said in Ever After, "Just breathe."

Pamela Blackledge

I am a Computer Analyst/Programmer. I lobby on the state and national level for certain children's issues. I sit on the board of the local chapter of a
national non profit organization. I wait tables and am the parent to two teenage sons. Most recently, I have returned to school after a very long absence, after deciding to change careers.

Hobbies: I live at the beach and love the ocean, Sea World, finding shark teeth on the beach (in Florida), music, watching high school basketball and football when my sons play, learning to play golf and the sax.

I am not a morning person and I was once struck by lightning.
