As a starter battery, I want it close to the engine. The closest place is immediately aft of the engine. I'm going to use a wet-cell battery due to it's superior discharge current characteristics. That means I need a flat, level platform for the battery. The area immediately aft of the engine is NOT level nor flat. So first order of business is a platform for the battery.
