| The
1985 we bought has air conditioning, the automatic,
and a 1500 cc four-cylinder engine. It has stayed with us from November, 1984.
It is one of those you could count on to do its job without complaint. When it
did complain, it was almost invariably something I could fix. Except the valve
train, which required a professional restoration when the timing belt failed at
54,000 miles, age seven or so. Bought it for seven thou, wouldn't sell
it for a thousand after eighteen years' use. If I could find a good station wagon
version of this car (a real one, I mean) I think I could live with it.
