You're right: it's a Lotus, and an Elan, but not an S2. I bought this when it appeared on eBay as the only 1:43 scale model of the Elan that had the correct color. It's by Kyosho, and is a very nicely done S3. I'll remain silent on the subject of differences between the S2 and the S3 versions.

There are S2 1:43 models available (wait until you see how many Corgi 318s I have) but all the ones I have found are a kind of wimpy metallic green-almost-blue or blue-almost-green, and they are right-hand driving (I'm afraid Mr. Corgi was overly influenced by Mrs. Peel) (Do you know that "Corgi" is a melding of the Welsh words for "dog" and "dwarf"?). The S2 windows go up and down, though, the bonnet opens, and the seats lean forward. They have an ugly advert sticker on the boot lid.
