This was the Torrey Pines "Last Lap" weekend, I believe. No more racings here. I don't know if they knew that at the time. I doubt it, judging by material in the program.

06-06-02: I found a race report on the previous (October, 1955) Torrey Pines Race. The writer seemed to believe that was to be the last event pre-golf course. It seems as if the organizers' failure to mention the moribund nature of the venue may have been breath-holding.

On my Torrey Pines race track pages there are a few original photos I took at this event. I think you will be able to match up some of them with names on the entry lists.
