San Diego D.O.G.'s Mission


*Support the welfare and safety of all San Diego residents and visitors through responsible dog ownership.
*Preserve and expand fenced PET (Play, Exercise and Training) Areas for residents and visitors with dogs in San Diego.
*Work with local, state, and federal agencies to identify, develop, and maintain safe fenced PET Areas for residents and visitors with dogs to play, exercise and train in new and existing parks.



San Diego D.O.G. Supports compliance with Municipal Code Section 63.0102 - Use of Public Parks and Beaches Regulated ...2 Loose animals...does not apply to:

(C) Dogs which are in SPECIAL AREAS of parks DESIGNATED and posted by the park and recreation director as dog exercise and training areas..


San Diego D.O.G. works to assist in developing safe fenced PET Areas in parks and available open space through fund/friendraising events and by donations of open space by businesses, condominiums, and public utilities, etc..

Get involved!! Become a member of your local Park & Recreation Council - usually by attending 3 meetings - election of officers are held in the fall.
