We
recommend that you double box leaving at least two to three inches
around each
box using bubble-pack, or any other suitable cushioning material inside
each
box. Each item should be wrapped separately with bubble wrap so items
do not
hit against each other. Your repaired items will be returned to you in
the
shipping container in which you sent them, so be certain that you are
satisfied
with the protection that you provide. Any
special instructions should be enclosed in writing. Be
sure to
enclose your name, address, phone number and email address on this
release
form.
CrystalCraft Liability Release
We have repaired thousands of items over the last 30+ years and very successfully! Even so we cannot guarantee that every piece repaired will look as original or be as strong as when the piece was made. Most repairs will require grinding out a chip and/or grinding the glass surface or lip down below the damage and re-polishing. It must be understood that heights and shapes can and will change in the repair process. Many, but not all, repairs are undetectable. All repairs, alterations and restorations are done strictly on a best effort basis.
If
your crystal or glass collectible will be bonded with a UV
resin or similar catalytic adhesive, these bonds cannot be
guaranteed to
tolerate heat or solvents or be food safe. Do not wash it in the
dishwasher, display in a sunny window or immerse the piece long term in
hot
water. Alcohol, including liquor, and other solvents may also attack
these
bonds. Many items that are repaired with bonding agents can only be
used as
ornamental keepsakes thereafter.
There
are certain unavoidable risks involved in crystal and glass repair. On
rare
occasions, during the repair process, a piece can shatter due to hidden
cracks,
faults, internal stress or by accident. Historically, less than 2 in 1000
pieces are lost
during the repair process. All liability for
breakage
and results remain that of the customer, however there will be no
charge for
pieces that fail to survive the repair process. The
client will be responsible for all shipping charges in any case.
We
do not compensate monetarily for any item that may break while in our
care. Shipping damage is the
responsibility of the shipper.
