Welcome to the home page for THE NEIGHBORS. Please browse around and try to keep boredom from overtaking you. We will warn you up front that the music and content contained on this site is not for the weak of heart (musically speaking). If you are looking for the type of "punk rock" found in your average department store you will be disappointed.
Why Do They Want to Play So Fast?
This is a question that is often asked about us by those that typically understand punk to be a music representing only what they are familiar with (which usually is not much). I get a kick out of this question as compared to most other thrash-punk acts we are the tamer of the genre. So, to answer the question in short, here goes... We believe that if a band is going to play music with distorted guitars then that music should be played at the extreme level distortion was made to be used for (Jimi Hendrix understood this concept well before most anyone did). We don't care about pleasing the main-streamers as soon they will find a new fad to participate in. So, if you can handle enjoying more than one form of music at a time then we might be for you. Otherwise, eat shit.
Who We Are
THE NEIGHBORS are a hard-core punk (or thrash-punk, as hard-core has now become another abused word with no meaning thanks to confused mainstream acts such as Rage FOR the Machine or Korn) outfit that has been together for seven years. Through out our time we have learned a lot and sharpened our sound into a much faster, harsher, and tighter onslaught of music. Unfortunately, most of our time is spent at school and work and releases have been few and far between. Never the less, we have always remained true to what few fans we have and have never compensated our sound to make our band a business venture. We are accessible to our fans and will never have a manager speak for us.
Who's Who
I guess I should mention who plays what. Even though it doesn't matter since you don't know us anyway. But, what the heck...
Ken Leek- Vocals, Keven Kemerling- Guitar, Scott Miller- Guitar, Clint Kemerling- Bass & Ed Diffner- Drums.
The Entire Scope of it All
Many bands, labels and individuals have supported us and are vital to the underground punk scene (what little one there is). Click here if you would like to find out more about them.
To Prove We Are Losers
A lot of the stuff on this site is in the process of being worked on, so don't be surprised when things don't work. I'm just starting to learn how to do this crap.
