In all, the model is quite spectacular. It is a model that gets better the closer you get to it and in-flight, looks unbelievably real, especially when you slow the video down a little (samples upon request). The model weighs a hefty 15.5 lbs., which makes it fly extremely scale and stable but also scale stallable. Flaps with controlled power are necessary on approach through touchdown. 15 oz. of nose weight was added to alleviate tail heaviness. In hindsight, I would remove most of the balsa sheeting between fuse formers and stringers and wing spars and ribs prior to styrene skinning. This model took a lot of time and determination and attention to detail. No part of modelling the full-sized Cessna was overlooked because of difficulty or time consumption. Patience is one of the most important tools in a project with this kind of detail. Some people build models and and can't wait to get their thumbs on the sticks when it's completed. I build with the anticipation of my thumbs on the play, pause and slow buttons. I hope that you enjoy the photos and would like to hear your comments. I think that I've touched on just about everything. I am happy to explain in greater detail any portion of my experience with this project. Please e-mail me with comments.
Thanks for stopping by, and good luck with all your projects,
Paul Reese
